I still keep wondering how a simple and popular Headache can be a symptom of this deadly and dreaded sickness called Cancer!
Actually, the first time I heard the statement "your headache might be as a result of brain tumour" was in a movie I watched on Telemundo Channel (though I can't remember the title now) yes I do that a lot...watch Telemundo film I mean... So I went online and lo and behold, its true, not just a film (fantasy) line.
Headaches are common in people with cancer, but not all headaches feel the same or have the same cause.
Determining the type and cause of a headache based on your symptoms, medical history, and a physical examination will help your doctor find the best way to treat your headache.
Some headaches can be managed by treating the condition that causes them. Medications approved by your doctor may be helpful for preventing and treating headaches.
Almost everyone gets an occasional headache. Headaches are generally divided into two main categories: primary headaches and secondary headaches. Primary headaches include migraines, cluster headaches, and tension
headaches. Tension headaches are also known as muscle contraction headaches.
Secondary headaches are headaches caused by another medical condition or underlying factor, such as a brain tumor, head injury, infection, or medication.
Both primary and secondary headaches are common in people with cancer.
You can read more on this on www.cancet.net but I am presently carrying out my research to be sure of the possibility and the stage at which your headache should start giving you concern and to also know if Nigerian doctors are working on this topic. Trust me, I'll tell you about my findings.
Stay tuned to ladybecca.com to read about the outcome of my research; for now, am out.

Ooops...someone actually asked a question in a workshop that I attended today... Is investigative journalism all about negative findings?
To me, investigative journalism is not just restricted to POSITIVE or NEGATIVE findings... it can also be just about an EYE OPENER to someone's surrounding.
My topic today is all about investigation but not a negative or positive one. Its just OPENING YOUR EYES to the fact that, that frequent HEADACHE of yours might actually need a check-up.
Catch ya here tomorrow...
